Lorry driver wins RM17m

KUALA LUMPUR: It is common to see motorists slowing down to check out accidents.

That was what a lorry driver from Perak did, and it helped him bag the Toto 4D Jackpot 1 of more than RM17 million on Aug 2.

The 54-year-old punter, who has been a lorry driver for more than 30 years, said he saw an accident involving a car and motorcycle a week before he bought the numbers and won the jackpot.

“I saw the accident on my way to work. I memorised the registration numbers of both vehicles, which are 9503 and 5518.”

The new millionaire said he realised that he won the jackpot on Wednesday, but carried on with his work as a lorry driver and completed his deliveries before collecting his winnings on Friday.

“I had sleepless nights after the great news, but I am happy that I can use the money to pay off my debts, as well as to pay for my children’s education,” he said, adding that he would continue to work as a lorry driver.
