Liow: RM110 million in Awas fines collected
THE Automated Awareness Safety System (Awas) collected more than RM100 million in fines until June.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, in a parliamentary reply, said there were 21 Awas cameras nationwide.
“Up to June 2017, the total Awas fines collected amounted to RM110,938,770.
“There are 21 Awas cameras operating in eight locations in Perak, two in Selangor, three in Kuala Lumpur, two in Putrajaya, two in Johor, one in Kelantan, one in Kedah and two in Terengganu,” he said.
Liow was responding to a question from Teo Kok Seong (DAPRasah), who had asked about the number of Awas cameras nationwide, the cost of installation and the total fines collected.
