Azmin is Pakatan election director
KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan yesterday appointed PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali as the pact’s election director for the 14th General Election.
The opposition coalition, in a statement signed by Pakatan Harapan chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, said Azmin would reinforce the pact’s election committee, chaired by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
“Pakatan Harapan would like to announce three new appointments. The presidential council has agreed to appoint Azmin as the election director to strengthen the election committee, which is led by Muhyiddin,” said the statement.
PKR Wanita chief Zuraida Kamaruddin was elected as the head of Pakatan Harapan’s women’s wing.
Dr Mahathir also announced the appointment of Parti Amanah Negara president Mohamad Sabu as Pakatan Harapan’s Communication and Mobilisation Committee chairman.
