‘Harian Metro’ still top news website in nation
KUALA LUMPUR: The Harian Metro (HM) website maintains its top position in Malaysia in the second quarter of this year under the news and information categories, based on statistics released by ComScore Inc.
According to the report, the HM site, www.hmetro. com.my, recorded 12.23 million unique visitors (UVs) from April to June; 4.16 million UVs in April, 4.12 million UVs in May and 3.94 million UVs in June.
In April, the site, better known as myMetro, surpassed its nearest rival by 362,000 UVs.
In May, the figure was 585,000, and in June, 756,000.
These statistics include those who visited websites using computers, smartphones and tablets.
In the first quarter of this year, the website recorded 9.88 million UVs, outperforming its competitors by 421,000.
The HM video arm, MetroTV, which has more than 104,000 subscriptions on YouTube, recorded more than 130.6 million views until yesterday.
On social media, Facebook (FB) myMetro has recorded more than 4.3 million “likes”, while HM’s Twitter account is followed by more than 776,000 users.
HM has another Twitter account by area: @hmutara for news in Perlis, Penang and Perak; @hmtengah (Klang Valley, Melaka and Negri Sembilan); @hmtimur (Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang; @hmjohor (Johor); @ Hmsarawak (Sarawak); and @metrosabah (Sabah).
