Subang Jaya factory, chemical storage warehouse razed

SHAH ALAM: A factory and chemical storage facility at the Subang High Tech Industrial Park in Subang Jaya were destroyed in a blaze early yesterday morning.

The 4.30am incident at Jalan Milan created a giant column of thick black smoke, which was visible several kilometres away.

Police said there was no casualty in the incident, and that the smoke was not hazardous.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Mohd Sani Harul said they dispatched 33 firemen in five fire engines, as well as a water tanker to the scene.

Sani said the firemen managed to control the blaze about 8am.
