SCGM to invest in new factories

Thermoform food packaging maker SCGM Bhd plans to invest up to RM133 milllion in capital expenditur­e (capex) at its new factories in a bid to raise its output by 88 per cent to

67.6 million kilogramme­s by the end of financial year April 30 2019. In a filing to Bursa Malaysia, the company said it was looking at factories in the Klang Valley and Johor. Managing director Datuk Seri Lee Hock Chai said the capex was part of its two-year expansion as it seeks to expand its market share in anticipati­on of a strong demand in the local and regional markets.
