Man accused of rape beaten up and robbed

-

KAJANG: A 22-year-old man went to the apartment of a woman he met on WeChat after being invited there for sex on Sunday, but ended up being assaulted, extorted and robbed instead.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussoff said the man had met the woman at the Vina Residency apartment in Jalan Seri Taming.

He said after asking the victim to take a shower, the woman, in her 20s, left the room.

Several minutes later, there was a knock on the door.

“When the victim opened the door, five or six men rushed in and accused him of raping the woman, who made the same claims,” said Dzaffir.

He said the men told the victim to pay them RM40,000, then stripped him and recorded a video and pictures of him naked.

“They threatened to spread the video and pictures if he did not pay up,” he said, adding that the victim was punched, slapped, kicked and beaten with a stick.

Dzaffir said police received a report from a friend of the victim the same day saying that he had received a video and picture of the victim on WeChat, sent from the victim’s phone.

The picture was of the victim, tied up, naked and being strangled by one of the perpetrators, while the video showed the victim being beaten up.

However, the friend said the victim had been released without any money being paid.

Dzaffir said the victim sustained minor injuries, but lost RM8,000 in cash and valuables.

Five people, including a woman, aged between 20 and 25, were arrested in Bandar Kinrara yesterday.
