BURSA MALAYSIA ENDS LOWER

BURSA Malaysia ended trading yesterday in negative territory, in line with most of its Asian peers.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI declined 4.6 points to 1,771.62 after moving between 1,771.62 and 1,775.80.

Losers outpaced gainers 444 to 379, with 378 counters flat, 641 untraded and 32 suspended.

Volume rose to 1.68 billion units worth RM1.78 billion from 1.45 billion units worth RM1.58 billion from 1.80 billion last week.

Among heavyweigh­ts, Maybank depreciate­d by six sen to RM9.60, while Sime Darby lost two sen to RM9.26 and Public Bank was flat at RM20.58.

Of actives, Mtouche fell 4.5 sen to 23 sen, Dagang Nexchange advanced by three sen to 50 senand Mlabs added one sen to close at 22 sen. Bernama
