“The MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) has more crossover styling, but re- tains the spacious and flexible cabin space. With the

Innova 2.0X, UMW Toyota is upgrading the MPV to an even more premium image with advanced features.

“Generally, the equipment and features of the Innova 2.0X are comparable to those of the Innova 2.0G, but there are also additional exclusive items to distinguish it as the top variant. The exclusive items include LED lights, premium combination leather package, six-way power adjustment for the driver’s seat, captain’s seats for the second row, and larger alloy rims,” said UMW Toyota Motor in a statement.

It said the full Innova range is qualified for the maximum five-star Asean NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme) rating as all variants, including the new Innova 2.0X, are fitted with seven Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) airbags, vehicle stability control (VSC), hill-start assist control and an emergency stop signal. Additionally, all variants have anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist.

The company added that the Toyota Fortuner’s range had been expanded with two new diesel variants, namely the Fortuner 2.4 VRZ 4x4 and Fortuner 2.4 VRZ 4x2.

“The two new variants are positioned between the top-of-the-line Fortuner 2.7 SRZ 4x4 and the Fortuner 2.4 4x4. The carried over 2.4 litre turbo-diesel engines for the two new variants continue to deliver a strong driving experience. It also offers comfortable seating in the three-row, seven-seater cabin,” it said.

The company said the Toyota Hilux, the best-selling pick-up truck in Malaysia for 12 years, has gone through major upgrades and improvements to boost off-road performance, convenience and safety.

“There are six variants to suit different budgets and requirements, whether they are just for work or for personal use or a combination of both. The major enhancements include cruise control, automatic airconditioning, USB charging ports, and an additional vent for rear passengers.”

Besides the VSC, which can prevent the vehicle from spinning out of control on a slippery corner, there is also hill-start assist control and active traction control.

“VSC has been incorporated into the Hilux 2.4G with manual transmission, along with hill-start assist control and active traction control. The Hilux 2.8G also has downhill assist control (DAC) to make driving down a steep slope easier and safer. Safety has been stepped up with seven airbags for the 2.4G AT variant as well,” it added.
