TCRS PLANS TO GROW DUBUYO BRAND IN MALAYSIA

-

KUALA LUMPUR: TCRS Restaurants Sdn Bhd, one of the largest food and beverage (F&B) groups in Malaysia, plans to grow its urban South Korean food chain DubuYo exponentially this year onwards, despite intense competition and challenging operating conditions.

TCRS chief executive officer Wong Kah Lin expects the DubuYo brand to double its sales beginning next year and set to contribute more significantly to the group’s total revenue.

“There is so much room for growth in the F&B sector. We will open two new outlets by yearend and 10 more by the end of next year. Our aim is to open 50 new outlets nationwide within the next three years,” said Wong at the launch of Dubuyo’s Syupeo Ramyeon and its 6th anniversary celebration, here, recently.

“We would like DuBuYo to grow and become the go-to restaurant for authentic urban South Korean favourites,” she added.

Wong said the strategy was to take advantage of the mushrooming of shopping malls, which were strategically located and closer to its target market, especially students and young working adults.

“The idea is that we will be looking at expanding within as well as outside the Klang Valley, such as the east coast like Kelantan and Terengganu. By yearend, we will have new outlets in Pahang.

“More importantly, we work with established mall operators. The key to malls being successful is the management of the malls,” she said.

The additional two malls, which will be opened by year-end, are located at Kuantan City Mall and Genting Highlands Premium Outlets.

DuBuYo has 14 outlets currently, including Mid Valley Megamall, Sunway Putra Mall, Berjaya Times Square, Sunway Pyramid and Nu Sentral. Amir Hisyam Rasid
