PM LAUNCHES 2 BOOKS IN PARLIAMENT

The Wasatiyyah Institute hopes that the books will bring a positive effect to society

PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak yesterday launched two books which he penned himself titled Fiqh, Wala’ dan Taat (Deep Understand­ing, Loyalty and Obedience) and Malaysia Bukan Negara Gagal (Malaysia Is Not A Failed State).

Najib introduced the two books at the Parliament building here after chairing the Prime Minister’s Department’s Wasatiyyah Innstitute’s National Wasatiyyah Policy Implementa­tion Coordinati­ng Committee meeting.

Present were Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri

Jamil Khir Baharom, Religious Adviser to the Prime Minister Tan Sri Dr Abdullah Md Zin and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa.

The Wasatiyyah Institute, in a statement, expressed hope that the books would bring a positive

effect to society, especially in devising strategies on issues that demanded the attention and actions of the public following changes in the global geo-political climate.

“Fiqh, Wala’ dan Taat touches on politics. It demands principles that are the backbone and fundamenta­l to a country, namely the principle of wala’.

“Malaysia Is Not A Failed State gives readers the real picture of the country’s achievemen­ts and swats away accusation­s that Malaysia is a failed state.

“With these books, written by the prime minister, we hope it would create a harmonious society that practises the wasatiyyah approach,” the statement read.
