NINE months after J Revolusi premiered on the big screen, the actor who played the lead role of Jay Zulkarnain, Zul Ariffin, is still obliging when it comes to giving his support to promotional gigs related to the movie.

The 31-year-old actor was recently seen gracing the launch of the ‘J Revolusi’ Limited Edition Companion Book at the Popular Bookstore branch at Sunway Pyramid in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, to the delight of his many female fans.

“I’m excited and I feel proud with the publication of this book, which is perfect for fans of the movie to keep as an exclusive souvenir.”

“Although it has been a while since the movie was in the cinemas, the support from fans are still visible.

“I hope this book will be wellreceived by those who love the movie,” said the Taiping-born Zul.

The producers of the movie, Primeworks Studios and Infinitus Production, had collaborated with Kadokawa Gempak Starz to come up with the book.

Although Zul was not involved in the production of the book, he said he would take part in the promotional gigs to promote it.

“I don’t get a share from the sale of this book.

“But, as the book is for J Revolusi fans and supporters, and as I played the lead role in the movie, I feel that it is my duty to come and help out with its promotion,” said Zul, who wanted his commitment to be the benchmark for artistes to help promote the projects that they’re involved with in future.

Apart from containing exclusive interviews with the movie’s leading cast and key people from the production team, it also offers readers facts about the equipment used, as well as behind-thescene stories and stunts.

The book also contains 14 pages of an exclusive comic, titled J Revolusi Gaiden, a prequel to the story in the movie, featuring Jay Zulkarnain and new characters who were not in the movie.

The comic was drawn and written by Kadokawa Gempak Starz’s comic artist, Wilson Lew, who took two weeks to conceptualise the story and come up with the artwork.

Asked if he had plans to develop it into a comic series in the future, Lew said it would depend on the producers of the movie.

J Revolusi collected RM7.2 million at the box office.

The J Revolusi Limited Edition Companion Book is available at Popular Bookstore outlets and selected bookstores. It is priced at RM15 each.
