Vivian-Khe Wei out of Macau Open

-

WOON Khe Wei-Vivian Hoo have withdrawn from the Macau Open, which starts today, to prepare for the upcoming China Open and Hong Kong Open Super Series tournaments.

The pair want to focus on regaining their fitness following back-to-back tournaments in Europe.

“We need a break to work on fitness. We want to be sharper and stronger for the events in China and Hong Kong,” said Vivian yesterday.

“Our decision to withdraw from the Macau Open is a good thing and we hope to do well in the upcoming Super Series events.”

Khe Wei-Vivian failed to make a mark in the recent Denmark Open and French Open, where they were ousted in the first round.

The World No 14 lost 21-17, 21-17 to China’s Huang Dongping-Li Yinhui in Denmark before the 2422, 21-19 defeat to Japan’s Shiho Tanaka-Koharu Yonemoto in France.

Chow Mei Kuan-Lee Meng Yean and Lim Yin Loo-Yap Cheng Wen will keep the Malaysian flag flying at the Macau Open.

Mei Kuan-Meng Yean will open against a qualifier while fourth seeds Yin Loo-Cheng Wen will face Taiwan’s Xiao Min Lin-Wu Fang Chien. Ferzalfie Fauzi
