‘Share PM’s success stories’
SHAH ALAM: The Umno information machinery should not “shy away ” from sharing with the rakyat the success stories and achievements that have been accomplished by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Umno Information chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa said Najib’s success stories in building and developing the nation must be highlighted to the people to dispel misinformation spread by the opposition.
“We feel that the achievements by the prime minister are something we should be proud of amid the hostile environment and the world’s challenging economy. They must be highlighted because there are parties that are trying to bury these stories.
“They (the opposition) want to replace these stories by forming false perceptions that the country is going bankrupt and the rakyat cannot eat due to pressure, as if the government is not doing anything when we know that it is during Najib’s era that all sorts of subsidies have been given.
“If these success stories are not shared, we will lose the war of perception and to the false impression that the opposition is trying to create.”
Annuar, who is Ketereh member of parliament, said this at the “Bicara Minda dan Perjuangan For All” dialogue at Wisma PKPS here yesterday.
Annuar said he wanted the Umno information machinery to be proactive and aggressive, instead of being defensive, in disseminating information on Najib’s successes and achievements.
“The prime minister has done so much and there are a lot of stories to share. There is no need to feel inferior because we are one of the best-performing governments in this region.”
He said the dialogue was in its 15th series, and had been held in all states, except Sabah and Penang.
He said issues and questions raised in the dialogues would be compiled into a book at the end of the month.
He said the dialogues, held in public spaces and broadcast live on social media, had received positive responses from the people.
“All sorts of questions were raised, such as on 1Malaysia Development Bhd, Goods and Services Tax, cost of living and the 2018 Budget. To me, there is nothing we will not share with the people.”
