Shangri-La KL ‘one of the best hotels in Asia’
KUALA LUMPUR: Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur has been voted as one of the top hotels in Asia by Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2017.
The hotel was picked as the top hotel here, placing itself among other stellar hotels in Bhutan, Indonesia, South Korea, the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar.
“We are proud and honoured to have been ranked as the top hotel in Kuala Lumpur by Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2017,” Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur area general manager Manfred Weber said.
“This is an affirmation of the dedication and hard work of the staff, who have helped us achieve this ranking in a highly-regarded and prestigious travel magazine.
“This recognition will further our commitment to maintain it as the preferred choice of hotel in Kuala Lumpur.”
Over 300,000 readers submitted millions of ratings and tens of thousands of comments, voting on a record-breaking 7,320 hotels and resorts, 610 cities, 225 islands, 468 cruise ships, 158 airlines and 195 airports.
The awards are the longestrunning and most prestigious recognition of excellence in the travel industry, and are commonly known as “the best of the best of travel”.
Under editor-in-chief Pilar Guzmán, it has become more selective and specific to the passions that inspire today’s travellers.
The awards were announced in the November issue of Condé Nast Traveler, on newsstands on Oct 24.
