KUALA LUMPUR: Delegates from the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (Irda) paid a visit yesterday to the New Straits Times Press (NSTP) headquarters in Balai Berita, Bangsar.

Led by its chief executive, Datuk Ismail Ibrahim, the 11-person delegation was received by NSTP chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Jalil Hamid.

The visitors were given a briefing by Jalil on NSTP’s operations as well as that of its three main publications — the New Straits Times (NST), Berita Harian and Harian Metro.

The Irda representatives were later taken on a tour of the NST editorial floor and the NSTP Resource Centre.

Also present were NSTP chief commercial officer Alfian Abu Talib, NSTP corporate communications head Wan Abdillah Wan Nawi, NST executive editor (News) Muzli Mohamad Zin, BH executive editor for news, features and digital, Datuk Ahmad Zaini Kamaruzzaman and Harian Metro senior specialist writer, news and current affairs, Tuan Mohd Asri Tuan Hussein.

Ismail said the visit was to help Irda obtain a better insight into a media company’s operations.

“From today’s visit, we were also able to share our latest developments and discuss the possibility of future collaborations with NSTP,” he said.

Irda is the federal statutory body tasked with regulating and driving development in Iskandar Malaysia into becoming a strong and sustainable metropolis of international standing.
