Cops release wanted list of 86

ALOR STAR: Police are looking for four men in connection with four murders which occurred in the state between 2008 and this year.

Kedah police Criminal Investigat­ion Department chief Senior Assistant Commission­er Mior Farid Al Athrash Wahid said the four were among 86 people wanted by police for various criminal cases in the state between 2007 and this year.

He said the four were S. Nadrajan, K. Soranamurt­i, S. Muniyapan and Abdul Kashem.

Mior Farid said Abdul Kashem was wanted for a double murder which took place in Pendang in August; Muniyapan for a case that occurred on April 15, 2012; and Soranamurt­i for a case that occurred on Feb 26, 2012.

“Nadrajan is wanted for a murder which occurred on Aug 28, 2008 in Jalan Kuala Ketil.

“We have been looking for (him) for quite some time and we believe he is still in the country,” he said here, yesterday.

Mior Farid said that the wanted list included 24 people being sought for alleged sexual offences; 14 for causing injury; 17 for theft; and one for an offence under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma) and Prevention of Crime Act.

Included in the list are two women: 37-year-old Zuhatiroh Sabu, who is wanted for a house break-in; and Tang Bee Guat, 40, for theft.

Mior Farid urged those with informatio­n on the suspects to contact the nearest police station.

On a different matter, Mior Farid said police seized 661 gambling machines under Op Dadu, which began early this year.

“The gambling machines were seized during 1,694 raids conducted statewide.

“Under Op Dadu Khas in September, we raided 303 premises and seized 96 gambling machines and RM500,000,” he said.

Mior Farid said during the raid, police detained 271 people, including premises owners and gamblers.
