Perodua targets sales of 6,000 units a month for new Myvi

PETALING JAYA: Bookings for the all-new Perodua Myvi will open from today, with the car maker targeting monthly sales of 6,000 units a month for the first three months after introducti­on.

Priced from RM44,300 (without insurance), the new Myvi comes with a comprehens­ive suite of safety features, a first in its price range.

Powered by new 1.3 and 1.5 litre energy efficient vehicle (EEV) engines and equipped with dual VVT-i, the Myvi comes with five speed manual transmissi­on for the 1.3 or an option of a four speed E-AT automatic transmissi­on on all variants.

The new engines are produced at the Daihatsu Perodua Engine Manufactur­ing plant in Sendayan, Negri Sembilan.

The upper body is designed completely in-house by Perodua, a first for the company.

Equipped with Eco Idle for the 1.3X, 1.5H and 1.5AV models, it features best fuel economy of 20.1 km/l for the 1.5AT.

In terms of dimensions, the new Myvi is longer, lower and wider than its predecesso­r.

The top of the range model is equipped with Advanced Safety Assist (ASA), a set of advanced features that include pre-collision warning, pre-collision braking, front departure alert and pedal misoperati­on control.

The safety features are made possible with a forward-facing camera positioned behind the rear view mirror.

Anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distributi­on (EBD), vehicle stability control are standard on all variants, while 1.5 variants are equipped with six airbags. The 1.3 variant comes with four airbags.

The 1.3 and 1.5 litre energy efficient vehicle (EEV) engines are equipped with dual VVT-i.
