GENEROUS JANG NA-RA

CHARITY donations from a celebrity usually warrant news coverage but actress Jang Na-ra prefers to remain anonymous whenever she donates.

However, her father recently revealed that from her debut in 2001 up to 2009, Jang had secretly donated more than 13 billion won (RM49 million)!

According to Koreaboo, she has donated to various charities, disaster relief funds, and academic foundations in both South Korea and China.

Back in 2002, she donated 40 million won (RM150,915) to a children’s charity in North Korea. Her generous contributions only stopped briefly in 2006, and her reasons were simple yet honest.

“If times are hard for me, I can’t be charitable. I help out and donate when I can, but I’m not so eager if it means I must make sacrifices.”
