SURPRISE ENGAGEMENT

Why did Fattah Amin and Nur Fazura initially keep their engagement under wraps? SYAHIRAH MOKHTAZAR has the story

-

THE news of actor Fattah Amin and actress Nur Fazura’s engagement sent fans’ hearts aflutter with the realisation that their favourite onscreen couple “Fattzura” had translated from reel romance to real life.

But, as over the moon as the fans were for the engagement, which happened on Nov 13, many also wondered why the duo didn’t share their plans before the actual ceremony took place.

At a special press conference at the Royale Chulan Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Fattah said: “We can only plan, but God is the best of planners.

“We wanted to make sure our plans sailed smoothly before we revealed the good news to our fans.

“This was also a request from our families, who wanted to celebrate the occasion in private.

“As for us, we would, of course, want to share the happy news with our fans, as they have continuously prayed and supported us.

“But, we wanted to respect the wishes of our family and also focus on performing our umrah, since we flew off to Mecca right after the engagement.”

Fattah denied rumours that he and Fazura had rushed their plans to get engaged.

“Everything was planned way ahead. We did not rush into anything, as speculated.”

Fattah shared that he and Fazura would start on preparations for their nuptials soon.

Although a specific wedding date was not given, he said that it wouldn’t be too long from now.
