NST E-PAPER GIVING A SHARPER READ
Circulation up by 243pc, from 13,710 copies last year to 47,092 now

THE circulation of the New Straits Times e-paper dramatically surged by 243 per cent to 47,092 copies for the first six months of the year.
This staggering growth, according to recent statistics released by the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) Malaysia, was compared with its circulation record in the preceding six months between July and December of last year.
ABC Malaysia stated that between July and December last year, only 13,710 copies of the NST e-paper, or digital replica newspaper, were sold.
As for its Sunday edition, the New Sunday Times, ABC reported that 45,468 copies were sold in the first six months of this year, a growth of 231 per cent from the second half of last year.
ABC said the NST’s sister publications, Berita Harian and Harian Metro, also registered a substantial growth of e-paper circulation for the first six months of this year compared with the preceding six months.
For Berita Harian and its Sunday edition BH Ahad, their circulation between January and June were 47,364 and 45,682, respectively.
These represent a growth of 228 per cent for Berita Harian and 217 per cent for BH Ahad, compared with the last six months of last year.
For Harian Metro and its Sunday edition Metro Ahad, ABC Malaysia reported a growth of 74 per cent and 68 per cent, respectively, for the first six months of this year compared with the preceding six months’ circulation.
ABC Malaysia said Harian Metro and Metro Ahad sold 27,137 and 26,283 copies, respectively, in the first six months of this year, compared with 15,612 and 15,627 copies in the last six months of last year.
