Vietnamese had time to get rid of ‘LOL’ shirt, court told

-

SHAH ALAM: Vietnamese Doan Thi Huong, one of the accused charged with murdering North Korean Kim Chol, had more than enough time to discard the outfit she wore during the alleged incident, including the infamous white shirt with letters ‘LOL’, the High Court heard.

Selangor Criminal Investigation Department officer Assistant Superintendent Nasrol Sain Hamzah, in his testimony, agreed with this suggestion by defence counsel Salim Bashir. Nasrul Sain earlier testified that Thi Huong was renting Sky Star Hotel Room 410 between Feb 13 and 15.

Salim: So between that time frame (Feb 13 to 15), she had enough time to dispose of any piece of clothing at the room? Nasrol Sain: I agree.

Salim: I put it to you that in this case, she did not dispose of any item on the police lookout list.

Nasrol Sain: I am not sure. He was the 24th prosecution witness at the trial of Indonesian Siti Aisyah and Thi Huong, charged with murdering Kim

Chol at the departure hall of Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 about 9am on Feb 13.

To a question by Thi Huong’s counsel Hisyam Teh Poh Teik, Nasrol Sain agreed that she could have disposed o the shirt in a plastic bag and thrown it away.

Hisham: Do you agree that Doan did not hide the white ‘LOL’ shirt in the room? Nasrol Sain: Yes, I agree.

He told the court that Thi Huong did not appear disconcerted when she handed over the ‘LOL’ shirt and a colourful dress to him during the raid on the hotel room. He said Thi Huong, during an interrogation at the Sepang police headquarters, said that she came to the country to shoot a prank video.

Hisham: I suggest to you that Thi Huong came to this country to shoot two prank videos, which was on the day of the incident and two days after that at the klia2? Nasrol Sain: I agree.

Trial continues on Jan 22 before judge Datuk Azmi Ariffin.

On March 1, Siti Aisyah and Doan were charged at the Sepang magistrate’s court with murdering Kim Chol, 45, with four others still at large.

Kim Chol was later established to be Kim Jong-nam, the estranged half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
