Kollywood megastars to grace Kuala Lumpur

COME Jan 6, Malaysians are in for a treat as the biggest-ever concert with Kollywood stars will take place at Bukit Jalil National Stadium.

Superstars Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan are part of the 175-strong entourage of artistes from southern India who will be performing on stage at the Natchathira Vizha 2018, organised by the India’s South Indian Artistes’ Association.

Other stars include Vijay, Surya, Vishal, Danush, Arya, Vikram, Vijaysethupathy, Jayam Ravi, Sivakarthiyan, Samantha, Amalapaul and Kusboo.

Here, the concert is co-managed by Malik Streams Corporation Sdn Bhd and MyEvents International.

Malik Streams chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Malik Dasthigeer said: “We’re very fortunate to have the opportunity to be part of this concert.”

Malik Streams also co-produced last year’s Tamil blockbuster Kabali starring Rajinikanth.

“For the past two years, we have been putting in a lot of effort to bring Kollywood artistes over.

“Our main objective is to make Malaysia a film-making hub for South Indian productions,” he said.

Malik said more producers from India were looking at Malaysia as an alternative foreign location for their projects as they found this country was safe and had great infrastructure.

He hoped that the turnout for the concert would range between 50,000 and 60,000 fans.
