AMAN, 37, turned himself in to the police after killing his girlfriend yesterday afternoon. At the Damansara police station, the man admitted to the crime and told the police that the body of his girlfriend, 35, was in his car.

Police found the body in one of the passenger seats and arrested the man.

It was understood that the man had killed his girlfriend in a fit of jealousy.

He suspected that she was seeing another man.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zani Che Din said police had not ruled out the possibility that the murder was a crime of passion.

The man drove his white Honda City into the compound of the Damansara police station at 4pm, walked into the building and told policemen at the counter that he had murdered his girlfriend.

Zani said the man was believed to have killed his girlfriend at 1.30pm.

“During investigations, the man said he murdered the victim in the Honda City in a hypermarket in Kota Damansara. He surrendered himself at the Damansara police station at 4pm. We found the body in the passenger seat.

“The victim had a stab wound on her neck.

“Police believed she was stabbed with a sharp object that we found in the car,” he said.

The man and the victim work for the management of a condominium in Kota Damansara.

Zani said the victim’s body would be sent to the University Malaya Medical Centre for a post-mortem.

Police will apply for a remand order against the man today.
