Insolent to call Azmin joker, says Pas
SHAH ALAM: Selangor Pas has described the act of Parti Amanah Negara (PAN), which labelled Datuk Seri Azmin Ali as “joker”, as insolent and inappropriate.
Selangor Pas liaison committee treasurer Zaidy Abdul Talib said since Pas came on board the opposition pact, it had never resorted to making statements that would put the menteri besar in a bad light.
He said Pas respected Azmin as an individual who was helming the state government.
“We, at Pas, have never uttered such statements towards a menteri besar whom we respect.
“I feel it is inappropriate. What more when it is the members of PAN who have issued such a comment,” said Zaidy after the Network of Asian River Basin Organisations seminar here yesterday.
Zaidy, who is the Infrastructure, Public Amenities and Agro-Based Industry executive councillor, said as a representative from Pas, he, too, felt slighted when such negative statements were hurled at Azmin.
An article by a news portal had reportedly said state PAN chairman Izham Hashim had called Azmin a “joker”.
It was believed to have been referring to a statement by Azmin, who said there had been four meetings by a committee to discuss the state seats distribution for the 14th General Election, of which 80 per cent had been solved.
Azmin, who is PKR deputy president, described PAN as dishonest and untrustworthy when it tried to twist the issue.
