Stop criticising RoS over party issues, PPBM told

-

PUTRAJAYA: Klang Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) Youth yesterday urged the party to stop criticising the Registry of Societies (RoS) when PPBM itself has failed to comply with its constitution.

Its chief, Mohd Khairol Faizal Mohd Nordin, claimed that the PPBM leadership under Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had blamed RoS over a purported failure to address PPBM issues.

The problems include the absence of terms “Angkatan Bersatu Anak Muda” (Armada) and “Srikandi” for the PPBM Youth and women’s wings in the party constitution, and the failure to hold branch meetings prior to its annual general meeting (AGM) on Dec 30.

“The AGM did not follow the constitution. For instance, the wings did not carry out their respective meetings before the AGM. Meetings at the branch and division levels are important to elect delegates.

“However, we learned that eight representatives from each division’s top leadership had been picked (earlier) for the AGM,” Khairol said after submitting formal complaints to the RoS here over PPBM’s constitutional issues.

Present was Klang PPBM Srikandi chief Juliana Mansor.

Khairol and Juliana also said compared with Dr Mahathir, PPBM president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was more suitable to lead the party and the Pakatan Harapan opposition pact.

“There are many young talents in Pakatan, and Dr Mahathir should give way to young leaders. It doesn’t mean that he is better than the others just because he was prime minister for 22 years,” Khairol said.
