No decision yet on roping in Khalid, says Selangor Pas
SHAH ALAM: Selangor Pas has yet to decide if it will make space for former menteri besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim to contest on the party’s ticket in the 14th General Election (GE14).
State Pas liaison committee treasurer Zaidy Abdul Talib said there had been no discussion on the proposal, including to determine which seat to allocate to Khalid, who is Port Klang assemblyman and Bandar Tun Razak member of parliament.
“I think that proposal is just a matter of opinion at the moment. Of course, there are many views on this.
“However, we have not decided on this.
“Such a decision can only be made by the Selangor Pas liaison committee, which will then be referred to the party’s central committee,” said Zaidy yesterday at a press conference after the Network of Asian River Basin Organisations seminar here.
Selangor Pas commissioner Sallehen Mukhyi had reportedly said they were agreeable and ready to give their support to Khalid to contest on the party’s ticket in any constituency in Selangor.
Sallehen said there was no need for Khalid to join Pas to do so.
Sallehen said this after Khalid last week expressed his interest to assist Pas in the general election although he would not join the
party.
