QSR UNIT TO REFURBISH 45 KEDAI AYAMAS
QSR Brands unit to spend RM5m refurbishing 45 outlets over 2 years
QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd’s unit, Kara Holdings Sdn Bhd, plans to spend RM5 million to refurbish 45 Kedai Ayamas nationwide over two years.
Kara Holdings executive director Calvin Ang said the company was also planning to introduce a new store concept by the third quarter of the year.
“We will i ntroduce a new store concept as Ayamas has been in the market for 30 years now.
“There is a lot of competition now and it is time we look at the new concept so as to remain competitive,” he said after the launch of the Golden Sesame Roaster and the Mutiara Johor Corp’s cookbook, here, yesterday.
Kara Holdings is the manager of Kedai Ayamas.
QSR Brands managing director Datuk Mohamed Azahari Kamil said the company was spending RM100 million to refurbish KFC outlets nationwide, on top of the RM100 million investment for new stores.
Last week, it was reported that QSR Brands planned to open more than 35 KFC outlets nation- wide this year with investments of more than RM100 million.
Azahari said it would spend between RM3 million and RM4 million on each outlet.
“We have the financial and operation capacity, as well as the commitment of our shareholders to expand our business this year, in line with the country’s strong economic growth.
“We see the economic fundamentals growing well this year and we want to make sure that we are able to develop all our restaurants,” he said.
