Yusoff: Look at weaknesses first before jumping the gun

- Syafiq Aznan

of Malaysia (FAM) deputy president Datuk Yusoff Mahadi has urged M-League teams to take a closer look at their weaknesses instead of jumping the gun by claiming that their players could be involved in match-fixing.

Yusoff said that he hopes teams will follow the necessary procedures and use proper channels when reporting on matchfixing allegations before coming out and making media statements.

“Teams should not implicate their players whenever they lose a match.

“Every team have their technical personnel who focus on analysing what are the reasons for losing a match,” this was his response to the press statement issued by the Sarawak FA (SFA) that claimed some of their players could be involved in matchfixing, following the 3-2 defeat to Felcra FC last weekend.

FAM have also confirmed that they are investigating Melaka’s 4-1 defeat to Selangor in a recent Super League match.

FAM’s integrity committee chairman Tan Sri Dr Aseh Che Mat said the national body views match-fixing very seriously and will not compromise when dealing to address such a serious matter.

“We have not received any reports from Melaka and Sarawak, but we are aware of the current situation. The committee have been asked to investigate both cases through a number of sources,” said Aseh.

?? ?? Yusoff believes teams should not simply implicate players but instead focus first on analysing why they lost.
