EPF urged to take news portal to court

-

KUALA LUMPUR: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) should take legal action against Sarawak Report for allegedly slandering the federal statutory body.

Federal Territories Umno Youth chief Datuk Razlan Muhammad Rafii said such accusations by the pro-opposition news portal had tarnished EPF’s reputation and image.

On Feb 28, EPF in a statement refuted a Sarawak Report claim over its purported dealings with Limage Holdings SA, Limage Southwest Holdings, an individual known as “Mr Matrai”, or any of the parties as stated.

It said, as such, there was no transfer of any funds or bonds to any of the aforementioned companies, parties or individual.

“If EPF takes legal action against Sarawak Report, it (Sarawak Report) would have to prove its accusations in court.

“That will help to expose the accusations against EPF as false,” Razlan said yesterday.
