Bandar Kinrara residents begin storing water

-

SERDANG: Residents in Bandar Kinrara, Puchong, have begun the arduous process of storing water as early preparations for the expected three-day water cut, which will hit parts of the Klang Valley from March 6.

Mohammad Faris Mohd Satar, 23, said he had began storing water after he read a notice issued by Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) on Saturday.

“I’m starting early (saving water) so that I won’t have to rush later. I am definitely worried that I will not have enough water supply for my whole family. But we’ve used every single container we have to store water.

“It’s tough. But it’s something we have to do,” he said.

Another resident, who only wished to be known as Mastura, 28, said the limited space in her house had made it difficult for her to store water.

“I’ll probably start saving water from tomorrow night. I live alone and am away at the office all day, so I don’t think there’s any need to save too much water.”

Several areas in the Klang Valley are expected to experience water supply interruption from Tuesday to Friday, following repair work at the Sungai Selangor Phase 3 water treatment plant.

Syabas said the works by Pengeluar Air Sungai Selangor Sdn Bhd (Splash) would cause a temporary shutdown of the water treatment plant.
