4 suspected robbers nabbed after driving against traffic

-

KUALA LUMPUR: In their attempt to evade police, four suspected robbers drove against the traffic flow on the Duta-Ulu Klang Expressway (Duke) and rammed their car into several vehicles, at 7pm last night.

A police source said prior to the car chase, the four were seen behaving suspiciously outside a house in Taman Sri Rampai here at 6.15pm.

A policeman residing in the area noticed them and contacted the Wangsa Maju district police headquarters.

“As soon as policemen arrived at the scene, the suspects fled.

“They entered Duke from the opposite direction, with the policemen in pursuit,” he said.

According to the source, the suspects rammed into several vehicles during the high-speed chase, which lasted almost an hour.

“The suspects only stopped their vehicle when it rammed into a Proton Waja, skidded and crashed into a concrete barrier near the Setiawangsa entrance.

“However, the suspects attempted to reverse their car several times, but failed.”

“Police found unlocking tools, sponges, screwdrivers, key cutters and cell phones in the car.”
