‘HAVE FAITH IN BN GOVT’
Coalition will continue to fulfil pledges, says Najib
PEOPLE need to place their faith in Barisan Nasional and return the mandate to the ruling coalition so that their interests and rights will continue to be upheld.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said BN would continue to fulfil its pledges to the people.
Najib drew a comparison with the opposition parties, which he said often came up with empty promises after coming into power.
“We (BN) will always fulfil our promises. We hope the people will put their trust in a government which always fulfils its promises.
“If you put your faith in the opposition party, this (empty promises) is what (will happen). If we were taken for a ride by the opposition, this will take place for years.
“Their pledges will remain only as promises. Nothing will be fulfilled. We need to put our trust in the government which cares for us and our future,” Najib said during a visit to SJK(C) Rasa here yesterday.
Present were Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam, Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid and his deputy Datuk P. Kamalanathan.
Earlier, Najib opened SJK(C) Rasa’s new school buildings, built at a cost of RM5.4 million. The government had contributed RM3 million for the project.
He said the announcement on the allocation was made on April 28 2010, three days after Kamalanathan won the Hulu Selangor parliamentary by-election.
“My visit here today (yesterday) is to show that we fulfilled our promise. It also shows that the BN government respects the presence of Chinese schools in our education system.”
Later, Najib also issued an immediate approval of an allocation of RM400,000 to upgrade and install new traffic lights at the Rasa intersection.
He had earlier received a memorandum seeking approval and allocation for the project.
“The people here have complained that the road is dangerous and accidents constantly take place.
“We are different from DAP, which had earlier promised to tackle the problem, despite being part of the Selangor government.”
