Razlan: Bersih is opposition’s propaganda tool
KUALA LUMPUR: Bersih 2.0 was a tool created by PKR and DAP to spread negative perceptions of the government in people, said Federal Territory Barisan Nasional Youth chief Datuk Mohd Razlan Muhammad Rafii yesterday.
He said Bersih organisers continued to hold demonstrations purportedly to fight for clean and fair elections in the country.
However, Razlan said, the fact that Bersih 2.0 chairman Maria Chin Abdullah had decided to contest the general election under the opposition banner proved that the Bersih was the brainchild of the opposition.
“Her actions also showed that she had conceded that elections in Malaysia are clean and fair.
“If they weren’t, then why would she contest?
“So, it is clear that it (Bersih 2.0) is the creation of the opposition to cheat the public and the country,” he said in a statement.
Razlan said the funds channelled to Bersih by sources in Israel and Hungarian-American investor and business magnate George Soros proved that the organisation had a “bigger agenda” than clean elections.
“I do not understand why the government and the Attorney-General’s Chambers have not taken legal action against them (Bersih) for being a threat to national security and disturbing public order.
“The rakyat, who for so long has been cheated by the likes of Bersih, should rise up against them.”
