Verdict on duo next week?

Badminton World Federation (BWF) are expected to release an official statement next week, following the hearing of the two Malaysian shuttlers alleged to have been involved in matchfixing activities.

According to a source, BWF have received the full report from the three-man panel who chaired the hearing, and are in the final stages of finalising their verdict.

"BWF have received the full report of the hearing and are expected to make an announcement latest by next week.

"It is also understood that the BWF want to make the announcement soon, as the case is now of of public interest," said the source, when contacted on Wednesday.

Last Monday and Tuesday, two independent Malaysian shuttlers were in Singapore to face a BWF independent inquiry, for allegedly manipulating match results.

The two shuttlers have six charges made against them from six tournaments between 20132016.

The source also said the decision is unlikely to favour the two players, and there's a high of chance of them challenging the verdict.

The BWF have not revealed the names of the two players implicated. Former world junior champion Zulfadli Zulkiffli and exThomas Cupper Tan Chun Seang, were seen attending the hearing at a hotel in Singapore. Helmi Talkah
