This blessed tradition began with prayers at the shrine on the 15th floor of the hotel. The lion dance troupe began making their way to departments in the hotel building to bring cheer to staff. After visiting all the departments, the troupe headed to the lobby, where a grand performance was held. Guests, including foreigners, were in awe of the performance by the lion dance troupe. Guests were presented with oranges by the lions during the main performance. Some of the guests and staff were elated when they were approached by the lions for a gentle gesture of love and comfort, especially from the children who wanted to pet the lions.

Once the performance was over, the lion dance troupe presented a tray of carved fruits symbolising blessings and positive spirit. Guests and staff took photos of the performance and posed with the lions before making their way to the fountain area of the hotel to watch an acrobatic performance. This acrobatic performance is a pole-balancing act which involved two lions reaching for a lettuce and a red ang pau packet that was suspended mid-air. At the climax of the performance, the lion troup continued to entertain the guests, marking a very successful, joyous and prosperous occasion that made everyone happy and contented.
