2 bul­lies test pos­i­tive for drugs

JO­HOR BAHRU: Two teenagers, sus­pected of bul­ly­ing and steal­ing a smart­phone and a sling bag be­long­ing to a men­tally-dis­abled per­son at a play­ground in Ta­man Sri Klu­ang on Tues­day, tested pos­i­tive for drugs.

Klu­ang dis­trict po­lice chief As­sis­tant Com­mis­sioner Mo­hamad La­ham said the two sus­pects tested pos­i­tive for metham­phetamine.

He said the two were ar­rested at 11pm fol­low­ing a re­port lodged by the vic­tim’s fa­ther, Md Yu­sof Zaini, 57. Yu­sof claimed that the teenagers had bul­lied his son, Nor Ak­mal, 20, who is a slow learner.

“The vic­tim’s fa­ther lodged a po­lice re­port af­ter watch­ing a video on Face­book and on What­sApp of a per­son be­ing bul­lied. He then re­alised that the vic­tim was his son,” he said yes­ter­day.

The two teens were ar­rested in Ta­man Gu­nung Lam­bak, near Klu­ang. Po­lice seized a smart­phone from them. He said the duo had been re­manded for four days. Their ar­rests came af­ter a 32-sec­ond video, show­ing a men­tally-dis­abled per­son be­ing bul­lied by two peo­ple, went vi­ral.

The bul­lies had used a stick to threaten the vic­tim at a play­ground.
