2 bullies test positive for drugs
JOHOR BAHRU: Two teenagers, suspected of bullying and stealing a smartphone and a sling bag belonging to a mentally-disabled person at a playground in Taman Sri Kluang on Tuesday, tested positive for drugs.
Kluang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Laham said the two suspects tested positive for methamphetamine.
He said the two were arrested at 11pm following a report lodged by the victim’s father, Md Yusof Zaini, 57. Yusof claimed that the teenagers had bullied his son, Nor Akmal, 20, who is a slow learner.
“The victim’s father lodged a police report after watching a video on Facebook and on WhatsApp of a person being bullied. He then realised that the victim was his son,” he said yesterday.
The two teens were arrested in Taman Gunung Lambak, near Kluang. Police seized a smartphone from them. He said the duo had been remanded for four days. Their arrests came after a 32-second video, showing a mentally-disabled person being bullied by two people, went viral.
The bullies had used a stick to threaten the victim at a playground.
