350 people have left Ghouta, says Russia
MOSCOW: Over 350 people have left Syria’s eastern Ghouta since a humanitarian corridor opened there, RIA news agency cited the head of the Russian peace and reconciliation centre in Syria as saying yesterday. “The majority of them left in the last few days,” RIA quoted Major-General Yuri Yevtushenko as saying. More than 1,100 civilians have died in the army’s latest offensive in eastern Ghouta, the United Nations Office of Humanitarian Affairs said. About 400,000 are believed to be trapped there.
