350 peo­ple have left Ghouta, says Rus­sia

MOS­COW: Over 350 peo­ple have left Syria’s east­ern Ghouta since a hu­man­i­tar­ian cor­ri­dor opened there, RIA news agency cited the head of the Rus­sian peace and rec­on­cil­i­a­tion cen­tre in Syria as say­ing yes­ter­day. “The ma­jor­ity of them left in the last few days,” RIA quoted Ma­jor-Gen­eral Yuri Yev­tushenko as say­ing. More than 1,100 civil­ians have died in the army’s lat­est of­fen­sive in east­ern Ghouta, the United Na­tions Of­fice of Hu­man­i­tar­ian Af­fairs said. About 400,000 are be­lieved to be trapped there.
