THE Residensi Razakmas project, developed by Aset Kayamas Sdn Bhd, is completed 16 months earlier than scheduled. Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said the housing project was equipped with facilities, such as community hall, playground and 24-hour security.

He said the units at the 41-storey apartment, each measuring 800sq ft with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, were sold at RM198,000 per unit.

He said three Federal Territories Affordable House (Rumawip) projects and one 1Malaysia Civil Servants Housing project were completed in the first quarter of the year.

“The government has completed 17 Rumawip projects involving 9,775 units,” he said after handing keys to 427 homeowners here yesterday.

In Baling, Kedah, Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar said the ministry had allocated RM902.5 million to build 5,910 People’s Housing Project (PPR) houses in the state.

He said 2,494 units had been completed, 1,416 units were being implemented and 2,000 units were in the pipeline.

Noh said the government had approved RM97.5 million for the construction of 500 units of single-storey terrace houses with surau, community halls, parks, nurseries and shops.

“This project is to help households with income below RM3,000. The cost of each unit is RM195,000, but it is sold at RM35,000, which means the Federal Government subsidises RM160,000,” he said after launching PPR Baling in Kampung Charok Sikin near here yesterday.

Present were Baling Umno chief Datuk Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim, ministry secretary-general Datuk Mohammad Mantek and Baling district officer Datuk Md Shuhaimie Abd Rahman.

Noh said among the completed PPR projects were in Paya Nahu and Aman Jaya, Sungai Petani; Kuah, Langkawi; and, Kubang Pasu and Seri Intan, Alor Star.

He said PPR projects in progress were in Alor Star, Kuala Nerang and Ayer Hitam. Those in the pipeline were in Bakar Bata, Ulu Melaka; Kuah, Langkawi; and, Baling district.
