KUALA LUMPUR: The Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) denied allegations that the 1Malaysia Taxi Assistance Cards will be given after the 14th General Election.

SPAD said in a statement taxi drivers would be given three months to collect their 1Malaysia Taxi Assistance Card.

“If the allegations continue to go viral, SPAD will not hesitate to lodge a police report so that the party involved are investigated by the authorities.

The commission urged taxi drivers not to worry as 67,000 cards had been allocated for them nationwide.

The card was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak last Friday at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park in Serdang.

“The card will be activated once it is collected by the taxi drivers. They can spend up to RM800 on petrol and NGV at Petronas stations nationwide,” the statement said.

SPAD also thanked the taxi drivers’ association members who attended the launch.

The card will be available at SPAD offices in Kelana Jaya, Penang, Kuala Terengganu and Johor Baru from today until July 16.

It can be collected at SPAD branches from tomorrow until July 16 at UTC Kuantan, Melaka SPAD branch, UTC Alor Star, UTC Ipoh, UTC Kota Baru and Langkawi SPAD branch.
