PARTI RAKYAT SARAWAK SACKS MINISTER ENTULU, 4 OTHERS

-

KUCHING: Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Joseph Entulu Belaun and four other Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) members were sacked from the party last night.

The others were incumbent Lubok Antu member of parliament Datuk William Nyalau Badak and PRS Supreme Council members Nyempah Sabot, Adriana Chumang Nyambong and Edward Kurik.

Their sacking was announced by party president Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing after an emergency Supreme Council meeting.

Masing said Entulu, who was PRS deputy president, was sacked because he went against the party decision to drop him as candidate for the Selangau parliamentary seat for the 14th General Election.

“He also went behind the party’s back when he announced that he was the Selangau candidate.

“It was clear that he breached the party constitution, so he has been sacked from the party, effective immediately,” he said while holding the letter of revocation of party membership, a copy of which would be sent to Entulu.

Masing said the decision to sack Nyalau was made for the same reason, as the vice-president had announced that he was the BN candidate for Lubok Antu.

“Nyempah has been sacked because he announced that he was the candidate for the Julau parliamentary seat, when the party did not put his name up for a seat.

“Action was taken against Adriana Chumang and Edward, meanwhile, for being in cahoots with Entulu and Nyalau,” he said.

After making the announcement, Masing introduced two new PRS candidates for BN in Sarawak — Rita Sarimah Insol, who will stand in Selangau, and Robert Pasang Alam, who will contest Lubok Antu.

He announced that the four returning candidates would be Datuk Joseph Sallang Gandum (Julau), Datuk Masir Kujat (Sri Aman), Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong (Hulu Rajang) and Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang Kanowit.
