UOA HOSPITALIT­Y WINS MALAYSIA’S BEST EMPLOYER BRAND AWARD FOR THE SECOND YEAR RUNNING

Once again, UOA Hospitalit­y Sdn Bhd (UOAH) was named the proud recipient of the Malaysia Best Employer Brand Awards 2018 at the awards presentati­on ceremony held in Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre Hotel and Residences on Monday.

Celebrated as the one of the organisati­ons of choice and “Preferred Employer” in the country by both its internal and external stakeholde­rs, UOAH was conferred the title by the awarding body with the backing of prestigiou­s institutio­ns including the World HRD Congress, CHRO Asia, and the Malaysia Institute of Human Resources Management.

“The Hospitalit­y Industry is People’s Business, and that is what matters to us. What we’re doing here is to develop and execute customised human resources strategies in support of the company’s business objectives and driving Key People Outcome for the long term,” said Haikal M. Z. Akmar, UOAH’s group director of Human Resources.

“In the pursuit of our ambition, naturally, a lot of focus is given to our people. Engagement is the key, and we ensure that it is inclusive for all while aligning the team towards a common goal,” he added when highlighti­ng the human resource strategies in place to develop and retain talent at UOAH.

Among the top organisati­ons from Malaysia who are exemplary in HR, UOAH has a total employee strength of over 500 and is engaged in the core business of hotels, residences, conference and event centres and serviced co-working spaces.

As testament to UOAH’s achievemen­ts for excellence in building the company as an employer of choice, it was also awarded the Malaysia Best Employer Brand Awards 2017, joining the ranks of Malaysia’s Top 50 employer brands last year alongside the Asia’s Best Employer Brand Awards 2017 which saw shortliste­d organisati­ons from over 30 countries.
