Once again, UOA Hos­pi­tal­ity Sdn Bhd (UOAH) was named the proud re­cip­i­ent of the Malaysia Best Em­ployer Brand Awards 2018 at the awards pre­sen­ta­tion cer­e­mony held in Pull­man Kuala Lumpur City Cen­tre Ho­tel and Res­i­dences on Mon­day.

Cel­e­brated as the one of the or­gan­i­sa­tions of choice and “Pre­ferred Em­ployer” in the coun­try by both its in­ter­nal and ex­ter­nal stake­hold­ers, UOAH was con­ferred the ti­tle by the award­ing body with the back­ing of pres­ti­gious in­sti­tu­tions in­clud­ing the World HRD Congress, CHRO Asia, and the Malaysia In­sti­tute of Hu­man Re­sources Man­age­ment.

“The Hos­pi­tal­ity In­dus­try is Peo­ple’s Busi­ness, and that is what mat­ters to us. What we’re do­ing here is to de­velop and ex­e­cute cus­tomised hu­man re­sources strate­gies in sup­port of the com­pany’s busi­ness ob­jec­tives and driv­ing Key Peo­ple Out­come for the long term,” said Haikal M. Z. Ak­mar, UOAH’s group di­rec­tor of Hu­man Re­sources.

“In the pur­suit of our am­bi­tion, nat­u­rally, a lot of focus is given to our peo­ple. En­gage­ment is the key, and we en­sure that it is in­clu­sive for all while align­ing the team to­wards a com­mon goal,” he added when high­light­ing the hu­man re­source strate­gies in place to de­velop and re­tain tal­ent at UOAH.

Among the top or­gan­i­sa­tions from Malaysia who are ex­em­plary in HR, UOAH has a to­tal em­ployee strength of over 500 and is en­gaged in the core busi­ness of ho­tels, res­i­dences, con­fer­ence and event cen­tres and ser­viced co-work­ing spa­ces.

As tes­ta­ment to UOAH’s achieve­ments for ex­cel­lence in build­ing the com­pany as an em­ployer of choice, it was also awarded the Malaysia Best Em­ployer Brand Awards 2017, join­ing the ranks of Malaysia’s Top 50 em­ployer brands last year along­side the Asia’s Best Em­ployer Brand Awards 2017 which saw short­listed or­gan­i­sa­tions from over 30 coun­tries.
