MMMC takes pride in high standards

-

MELAKA-MANIPAL Medical College (MMMC) has been at the forefront of medical education in Malaysia since 1997, celebrating two decades with the graduation of nearly 4,000 doctors and more than 200 dentists.

MMMC has been the recipient of many accolades, and is especially proud of being awarded Brandlaureate Southeast Asia’s Superbrand in Education — Medicine in 2011.

It was the first private medical school to be granted a five-year accreditation term by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency in 2009 for its MBBS programme, and its Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is set to follow suit.

Manipal University in India has just leapt seven rungs up to 11th spot in the recently-announced ranking of medical schools by the Indian government, and is expected to break into the top 10 soon.

This reflects the high standard of education that Manipal prides itself with, and it cascades into all its institutions across the globe, not least MMMC here in Malaysia.

MMMC is a medical specialist higher-learning institution that also offers the basic Foundation in Science (FIS) as a gateway for school leavers with Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia to further their studies in its medical and dentistry courses.

MMMC’s curriculum is uniquely designed in that students complete the first phase of their MBBS and BDS studies overseas, and then return to Malaysia for Phase Two.

MBBS students continue their clinical training at public hospitals in Melaka and Johor. Dentistry students have access to a complete dental clinic in MMMC’s campus.

The learning facilities in MMMC and Manipal India campuses are second to none, with auditoriums, lecture halls, classrooms, multidisciplinary labs, clinical skills centre and computer labs.

Others include student hostels, cafeterias, gymnasium, swimming pool, sauna, squash courts, football field and basketball courts.

MMMC wants to inspire all its students to pursue their medical career with zest and passion.

It aims to ensure that its students are comfortable and their wellbeing is taken care of.

Every teaching and learning centre is equipped to provide teachers and students with the best learning environment. A visit is to the MMMC campus is highly recommended.
