Wanita Umno candidate vows to regain people’s trust

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno leaders and members should strengthen the party’s legacy and improve its weaknesses to win back the people’s trust, said Parit Sulong assemblyman Datuk Dr Noraini Ahmad.

Noraini, who is a candidate for the Wanita Umno chief’s post, said the wing should boost its machinery and social media team to rid negative perception against the party.

“Our failure to rid such perception in the social media was the reason why we lost in the 14th General Election.

“The most important thing is to regain people’s trust towards Umno and to improve the party’s strategies,” she said yesterday.

Noraini said there was a need to win back the support from the younger generation.

She said the party leadership could foresee the challenges that would come in the next general election.

“We will do our best to win back the young voters, InshaaAllah.”

Noraini said she was mentally and physically prepared to take on the task and challenges in leading Wanita Umno, and called upon party members to support her based on her track record.

“I pledge to make use of my experience and knowledge to improve Umno. I also promise to give my full commitment and work hard for the party.”

Three candidates have submitted their nomination papers for the Wanita Umno chief ’s post.

They are Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun, Tan Sri Dr Siti Zaharah Sulaiman and Noraini.
