Perak hang on to second spot in Super League

PERAK are still hanging on to second spot in the Super League despite a 1-1 draw with Selangor at the KLFA Stadium on in Cheras on Tuesday.

The draw enabled The Bos Gaurus to collect 28 points after 16 matches so far.

Perak were fortunate against Selangor as the latter scored an own goal in the 42nd minute via Alfonso De La Cruz Calero.

Red Giants captain Mohd Amri Yahyah came to the hosts’ rescue in the 81st minute with a curling free kick that shocked Perak goalkeeper, Khairul Amri Salehuddin.

Meanwhile Pahang closed the gap with Perak after crushing minnows Negeri Sembilan 3-1 at Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi.

In other matches, PKNS FC beat Kelantan 2-0 at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium in Kota Bharu, while Melaka beat Perak SEDC 2-1 at the Perak Stadium in Ipoh.
