Hubby: It was tough to persuade her parents

-

GUA MUSANG: The husband of a 11-year-old girl has acknowledged how tough it was to persuade her parents to consent to their marriage.

He said they gave in only after he promised them that he would not consummate the marriage with their daughter and would only stay together once she reached 16.

“With the agreement, we went to Mundok near Sungai Golok, Thailand, to get married. Her father was present at the time (of marriage).”

The married couple are happy, as they “love each other” and do not care what people are saying.

“They (social media) had said my first and second wives were against (the marriage) and had demanded a divorce. This is not true,” he said yesterday.

His new wife defended her marriage, and does not care about the ridicule that she and her family are facing, following the marriage.

“The issue of being young in age does not arise because our marriage is based on pure love and I love my husband very much,” she said.

She said she had known her husband’s wives for a long time, even before they were married and was on good terms with them.
