KUALA LUMPUR:Hashtag #TunM93, which was created in conjunction with Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s 93rd birthday, was the most trending on Twitter with 9,114 tweets as of 8pm yesterday.

Netizens took to social media like Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to express their birthday wishes to their favourite couple, Dr Mahathir and his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali.

Most prayed for Dr Mahathir’s health and wished him all the best in leading “Malaysia Baru” to greater heights.

Some posted pictures and videos as part of their greetings.

One of those who posted under the twitter handle, Jeffe, prayed that the couple would oversee the transformation of Malaysia into a great country again.

“Happy Birthday PM, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed (93rd on 10th July) and Tun Dr Siti Hasmah (92nd on 12th July). May both live longer and prosper. Let’s make Malaysia great again.”

Another user, Fyda, wrote a heartfelt message praying for Allah to always look over Dr Mahathir.

She said nobody could ever repay Dr Mahathir’s sacrifices for the country all these years.
