DPM extends condolences
KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail yesterday extended her condolences to the family of television personality Datuk Mahadzir Lokman who died on Friday.
“Condolences to the family of national broadcasting icon Datuk Mahadzir Lokman. May his soul be placed among the believers,” she said via Twitter yesterday.
Mahadzir, who died at 9.30am on Friday, had previously been admitted to the intensive care unit of the University of Malaya Medical Centre for kidney and lung complications.
Mahadzir, popularly known as Dale, began his career as the first Bahasa Malaysia and English newscaster at TV3 in 1984 and was the first host for some of the television station’s programmes, namely Sekapur Sirih, Malaysia Today (MHI) and Melodi.
