RECOMMENDA­TIONS BY INTERNATIO­NAL DIABETES FEDERATION FOR A HEALTHY DIET

1. Choose water, coffee or tea instead of sugary beverages or soda.

2. Eat at least three servings of vegetables every day. Include green leafy vegetables.

3. Eat three servings of fresh fruits every day.

4. Choose nuts, fresh fruits or unsweetene­d yogurt for snack

5. Limit alcohol intake

6. Choose lean cuts of white meat, poultry or seafood instead of red or processed meat.

7. Choose peanut butter instead of chocolate spread or jam.

8. Choose whole-grain bread, rice or pasta instead of white bread, rice or pasta.

9. Choose unsaturate­d fats (olive oil, canola oil, corn oil, or sunflower oil) instead of saturated fats (butter, ghee, animal fat, coconut oil or palm .
