Regus plans to open 3 centres this year

KUALA LUMPUR: Flexible working solutions provider Regus Management Malaysia Sdn Bhd aims to open three flexible workplace centres in the country this year.

Regus Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei country head Vijayakumar Tangarasan said the company planned to open the flexible working space in the Klang Valley, Sabah and Johor.

“We are opening in areas where there is a high volume of working people. We are looking at centres with transport hubs and shopping malls, where people can easily commute and find places to eat.

“The expansion will be across our network. We have covered most states in Malaysia except for the east coast, Perak, Negri Sembilan and Melaka,” he said at a briefing, here, yesterday.

Regus recently opened a business centre in Menara Summit, Subang Jaya.

“As local and multinational companies look to manage rapidly increasing real estate costs, the need for flexible workplace solutions is rising. Our centres will allow them to scale up or down depending on their needs and market conditions,” said Vijayakumar.

Earlier this year, Regus opened two centres in Penang, bringing its flexible workplace centres to 33, including one in Brunei.

Vijayakumar said overall, the flexible working space had an occupancy rate of 73 per cent.

“More enterprises are realising that utilising remote working solutions is far more effective in terms of productivity and worklife balance than facing trafficchoked roads every day.

“The nature of work itself is changing. With the rise of digital natives, there is a growing trend for people to work in more flexible ways,” he said.
